Performance story of Le Immagini di Vetro project

Immagini di Vetro Project was born in 2007, by an idea of Giulia Spugnoli and Mario Stagi, as research about performing with different semantic forms, to show the creative and communicative experience in the art process. Words, signs, vision, sounds, light, symbols, materials and colours in a new compositive logic.
The instruments that we use for the research are: a computer with music software connected to a sound system, and an overheadprojector on which  glass colours , water, objects and various materials are manipulated and projected onto a big white screen. The picture designed , on the overheadprojector, has its own perspective and cognitive space, different from the space of music, one superimposed upon the other , and of another semantic order are words and sentences. All these different parts become composite aesthetic elements that create unity. With these basic elements we elaborate our performance, leaving space open to creative inspiration. Tune on basic semantic knots, we follow a sequence made by keywords or sentences to which music and images refer. With improvisation, the picture flows in time as the music does and together they exist during the live exhibition. The Immagini di Vetro's research tries to reveal the communicative attraction and effect of mass media technology, using more primitive and symbolic images, both material and abstract at the same time, more free and open, as art allows. The performance is total for its dimensions in the space and not for its commercial branding. It open also the art work to the audience perceptive estrangements  effect.

(Questo progetto nasce nel 2007 da Giulia Spugnoli e Mario Stagi come sperimentazione nel campo comunicativo, performativo e artistico. La ricerca è partita dalla strumentazione usata , in sé molto semplice, un computer , un programma per comporre musica elettronica, amplificazione, una lavagna luminosa, un telo bianco.L’idea iniziale era di riuscire a coordinare musica ed immagini insieme, poi abbiamo aggiunto anche frasi e parole, sviluppando così una sovrapposizione/fusione di moduli semantici come quello verbale, segnico, cromatico,visivo, sonoro, luminoso, simbolico,concettuale.)
